Well, I don't know what to say. I wasn't really a fan of the previous book, especially because I never found a way how to like Hartley. But the HUGE cliffhanger forced me to read this book asap. Well, I don't know what to say. I wasn't really a fan of the previous book, especially because I never found a way how to like Hartley. But the HUGE cliffhanger forced me to read this book asap. Well, after finishing my review, I feel like I'm even generous with my rating. Funny thing that I always realize how angry a book made me only when I write the review.

Let's start from the beginning. The whole "(view spoiler)[ amnesia thing (hide spoiler)]" it only seemed to me like the author didn't know what to do with the plot and thought that this would be an amazing plot or solution. Well, no, sorry, it was not.

I'm not a doctor but (view spoiler)[, so she remembers nothing, and they just send her to school? Like nothing happened, you would expect some sort of counseling and "transition," tests what she remembers and what not. I get that her parents are assholes, but I would think that this would alert social services or someone that a girl who remembers nothing is just sent to school. Same with Sebastian, he woke from god knows how long coma a guy that is going to trial for murder just gets him out of the hospital and then he is in school like a couple of days later. (hide spoiler)] Really don't get that and I would be really surprised if that were how that worked in the US. (view spoiler)[Talking about a guy who committed a murder. It was said that he was also being charged with an attempt to kill Ella as well. - Btw, when did he try to kill her? Because what happened at the end of the Twisted Palace did not seem like attempted murder to me. But still, she is a major witness in the case. He should not be allowed anywhere near her! But he can just come to the house where she lives? No restrictions on that? Seriously? (hide spoiler)] And since I'm already talking about the lack of action from CPS or anyone for that matter, let's add other issues. (view spoiler)[ So, at the end Hartley's dad is dead, her mother just packs her backs and goes away as well as her older sister. And no social services, CPS or anyone is involved when she leaves Dylan, her 13-year-old daughter with the family of the guy her 17-year-old daughter is dating? And do not tell me that it's the money. The case was under media scrutiny; they would definitely report on that. (hide spoiler)]

Okay, this feels like this review is going to be full of spoilers.

(view spoiler)[ I won't really comment on Callum going to Dubai to close a deal when his son is in a comma. If Sebastian was in a comma like for a month or so then okay but it was what? Days? Week? And he was off and left Easton in charge of everyone. As if he wasn't drinking all the time and Callum was aware of that. You would guess he would at least force Gideon or Reed to come back. (hide spoiler)]

As for Easton. In the last book, I was really angry about his behavior towards Ella. And to be honest several times in this book it was even worse than in the previous one. As well as his behavior altogether. (view spoiler)[He made no sense at all. He was just making things worse on purpose and then trying to excuse himself. (hide spoiler)]

Okay, so little miss Hartley. Still, don't like her. And have nothing much to say about her. Only that her actions were sometimes really stupid and forced her to do things were complicated. Maybe she should keep her mouth shut, just maybe sometimes.

The first half of the book is really slow and almost pointless.

We got some mandatory Felicity drama. Again sort of doing the same to get rid of the mean girl as Ella did. (view spoiler)[ Really don't get the Kyle thing. So Felicity set it up, and her parents just went with it? I understand that Kyle did it for money but don't understand why he punched her. Makes no sense at all. (hide spoiler)]

Then there is Steve who just won't go away. And I already voiced some of my issues about him in some of the previous spoilers. But let's add another. (view spoiler)[ So he has an ankle bracelet to monitor where he goes. And put that together with the fact that he should not be allowed anywhere near Ella he should be in jail for being at Royal's place. But okay, let'S pretend he could just order Ella in his car and all would be fine. Then to his suicide, come on, that was only a stupid way how to finish the book and close the Steve's issue without writing about the trial. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[Also, Steve just goes crazy, shooting anything and everything. It also gets revealed that Easton is apparently his son. Which was suggested in the previous book by Hartley's father. I didn't believe it because a) didn't really think the author would go for the Ella and Easton kiss and b)in the first three books it was hinted that the twins were more like Steve so it would make more sense if it were them than Easton. (hide spoiler)]

Also about Hartley's father who was just behaving really stupidly and I'm sort of surprised he managed to go on with it as long as he did. (view spoiler)[He also said that he pushed Hartley at the hospital that caused her amnesia. (really convenient) But I re-read her fall, and I do not see how he could push her without anyone seeing it. They were looking at her! (hide spoiler)]

Hopefully my last issue with the book. The twins and Lauren and anything altogether. Since the author revealed that the Royals were over, no more books, no-extras no nothing I'm really confused and maybe even angry because we always got just hints on them. A built up of their story to get people interested, and I really wanted to know more about them. And the author is just like: No book for them. Okay, then at least please explain the things in this book! (view spoiler)[ The author just threw there that Lauren broke up with them which made me really angry. It was same as with Steve. Just deleting the character so I don't have to bother with an explanation. And I thought I was angry after the previous book when Lauren went from the sweet and nice girl to a complete opposite manipulative monster. But this got me angry even more. (hide spoiler)]

Also (view spoiler)[Sebastian woke up after being super angry and rude which is understandable but we won't ever know if he gets better or what. (hide spoiler)]

Wow, after letting all of my anger out I sort of wonder if there is really something I've liked about the book. Also, as some people already pointed out there were some really unnecessary typos in the book.

You all can clearly see that this series has been disappointing me for a little while now, but this installment was really the Lord testing me, I swear. Which is so damn sad, because Easton is truly my favorite in this whole unbelievable family drama.

"God created a billion men, developed the perfect face, and stuck it on Easton Royal."

The Royal series is a new adult romance series that features a family that has five incredibly rich, extremely privileged, and obviously super-hot boys. The first trilogy starred the second to oldest brother, Reed, and a girl named Ella who comes into the brother's lives. Well, now Reed is off at college, and the new story arc belongs to the middle brother, Easton. And he fell for a girl named Hartley in Fallen Heir, even though she feels so very off limits because of everything going on in her life.

But with the cliffhanger ending that Fallen Heir gave us, I was thinking a million things when starting this. And guess what? None of them were true. Which already started the book off to be a disappointment, but then we got one of my least favorite storyline tropes of all time (view spoiler)[Amnesia (hide spoiler)]! Hartley became so annoying that I just wanted to put the book down a million times. And why she would believe everyone but Easton was something I still can't even wrap my head around.

"Me dating Easton Royal is about as likely as me hooking up with one of the members of BTS—in other words, not likely at all."

And normally these books are super sexy, but there is legit only one sex scene in this book and it's mediocre at best. Instead of this being a sexy, angsty, love story we get an even more unrealistic book that slut shames constantly. Also, I get that Easton was being playful, but when he kept joking with Hartley about him being a virgin, and it being his first time, I wanted to stab him.

And when I say unrealistic, it is the understatement of the year. I mean, these books are already so drama-filled and unbelievable, but Cracked Kingdom really somehow made it even worse. From unbelievable parental lineage, to the most vile and random side character, to pointless school bullying, this book has it all.

And major trigger and content warnings for: serious events in a hospital setting, sexual harassment, verbal abuse constantly, physical abuse between students, extreme bullying, parental abuse (physical, emotional, verbal), underage drinking, drug use, and talk of overdosing.

Oh, and this is just a personal gripe, but the computer hacker character was one big mash up of every stereotype you could imagine, Doritos included, and I'm not sure if anything in literature has made my eyes roll further back into my head.

And from the last chapter of this book, you just know that Erin Watt isn't done with this world. And honestly? I can't keep doing this to myself. And I already hate the set up for the next storyline.

(view spoiler)[But what really ruined this one for me was Easton and Ella being half brother and sister, because like... did everyone forget the events of the original trilogy? Like, miss me with the incest please. Just kissing or not, that shit feels so bad to think about now. (hide spoiler)]

Overall, I'm just done. You know, I know I have masochistic tendencies, but I can't keep doing this to myself. I need to stop remembering how much I loved the Off-Campus series and realize that this series just isn't for me. But if you all like the most improbable story lines in your new adult romance, then I completely recommend The Royal Series!

'Cracked Kingdom' is the fifth book in Erin Watt's 'The Royals' series. It picks up right where the fourth book (Fallen Heir) and that cliffy we were all hanging over, all eagerly awaiting for the final conclusion. And here it is!!

One twin is in a coma uncertain as to when he will wake up, or even if he will, the other twin can barely function without his right hand man, he's holding on by a thread.

Seb likes to rescue baby animals and overuses the heart eyes emoji, whereas Sawyers the macho twin. The one who doesn't talk as much. The one who doesn't like showing emotion. But without his twin Sawyer's alone and scared.

Hartley has had her memory bank wiped clean of the last three years, her mind is a clean slate, to fill in her blanks could set her back years in her recovery. She can't even remember Easton. All the blame of the accident has been laid at her feet, since her car collided with the twins range rover she's been ostracised by the townspeople because of the accident.

Due to this and trying to be the glue that keeps his family strong, Easton is slipping back into his old ways, drinking and barely keeping his shit together.

Felicity is out for blood, she was wronged by Easton and she's going to make him pay she's out for blood and who better to go after other than Hartley. She's vulnerable, she'll believe everything Felicity tells her.

What a highly addictive series this has been, the ups and downs of Royal life, the downside that this series has now been put to rest is heartbreaking. I just hope we get to read about a new group of troubled teens.

I'm no longer on the edge, staring into the abyss. I'm in it. I'm freefalling in this endless darkness.

Poor Easton. Poor Royal boys… When I read things like this one, I feel so ashamed that I have such fun with their books which are over the top filled with amplifying despair and tragedy.

And then I read things like:

"Your jacket is worth a couple of mortgage payments. I don't think anyone is going to mistake you for a burglar."
"Of course it is." She rolls her eyes. "Do you get an allergy if your clothes cost less than four figures?"
"Yes. Yes, I do. And my dick shrinks, too"
"Only you, Easton, would be confident enough to joke about your dick getting smaller."
"Big dick problems."

And then I cannot stop laughing…
So, yeah I enjoy these books and hopefully more books will come because Sebastian and Sawyer are silently screaming for their book and their girl.

Easton faces a mess in this book. For a fraction of this mess, he was responsible. For the rest of it, the Wrights are responsible and I can't believe there is a family more fucked up than Royals!

Hartley has amnesia. Felicity tries to confuse Hartley. The twins are separated. Easton tries to help Hartley.
Oh Easton! What a mess...

Easton is obviously an alcoholic and suffers from depression. But this is a fact that everyone has suspected from book 1.
I have no words to describe how much perfect Hartley is for him.
During the first part of book, they desperately try to find each other.
Hartley is Easton's home and Easton is Hartley's home.

"…my shoulders feel lighter than any other time I can remember. I confessed all my sins to Hartley and she didn't push me away."

Regardless of some heavy matters that are described, the book is actually funny, fluffy and sweet.
Awesome book. I NEED more…please…

Throwing in some random nostalgia, it's amazing to think that my journey with this family started with requesting an arc when it had no official blurb, no cover, and I had no clue who Erin Watt was. Almost two years later and I'm completely enthralled with this family and devastated that their stories are over.

Cracked Kingdom opens up where the last cliffhanger left us screaming, with the Royals completely torn apart. In this book the Royals are tested with how much they can handle without destroying each other and it was a heart-wrenching story to experience. But it was one that validated why their stories just keep sucking me in.

Of course the main focus is again on Easton and Hartley, though not so much them together. For the majority of the beginning they barely even had any scenes together. While reading, it made me a little disappointed but in the end I could appreciate why everything played out the way that it did. It's one of those stories for me that I couldn't exactly say how I felt about it until I finished.

Hartley was a very interesting character in this book for me. Due to circumstances surrounding her character, we kind of got to see her discover her will to fight all over again and I loved that. My heart broke for her many times and I wanted to just slap some people on her behalf. I felt like she had a tougher time throughout this story than the last but by the end I think it made her stronger and made me admire her more.

Easton was still a mess, of course, but that's why I love him. A broken bad boy will always win my heart over and Easton was the epitome of that hero. Messed up and coping in unhealthy ways but the perfect lovable heart that attracts our heroine and makes readers swoon. If you haven't experienced the Easton Royal charm yet, you are missing out.

Being super vague in this review is actually killing me a little since I have so much I want to say about, well, everything yet this series is something you will need to experience for yourself. So go get ruined.

- Another issue was that Hartley was pretty gullible/stupid even with what happened to her (view spoiler)[ her memory loss (hide spoiler)]. I just wanted to shake her sometimes

- I didn't really ship Easton and Hartley. It just felt like Hartley had too much power over Easton. Like if she breaks his heart, he would probably drink himself to death. That is another thing with this. Easton's alcohol problem did not really get addressed. I love him but he seriously needs A.A meetings.

What I liked
- I liked seeing the gang all together and I did enjoy the soap opera-like drama.

- I also liked the end with (view spoiler)[ the wedding!!! (hide spoiler)] it was really cute

I am sad that the twins won't get a book from their POV. TBH, I rather have that than this book.

I've waited so long for this book. I have binged and loved my Royals from day one. I have been committed to Erin Watt as they took their time writing the perfect book for us. But I don't know what happened. I honestly don't, it's completely baffling to me how this is the final product.

Above all of that, I think this book skipped editing too. Lots of errors. Even Easton's name was misspelled. Eastern. I mean, what? I know people want to make deadlines, but these types of things are important too.

I think they rushed this. That's all it boils down to. A book that was supposed to come out in January- pushed to March. And then we hear nothing on it for months (except for people begging) and then bam, it's out. Rushed. It was very sloppy. And to me, as a devoted reader and follower (especially of the Royal family) that is so very sad. I FEEL sad.

The plot holes are out of control in Cracked Kingdom. Especially since they have made it clear this is the last book in the series. I have zero answers. The things that happened in Fallen Heir, are never even touched on. Lauren and the twins are the hugest holes that were never filled and probably never will be. And the ending was sloppy and thrown together so that they wouldn't have to continue the story. They took easy ways out when it came to certain characters.

How sad. I'm sad it's over, I'm sad I waited for this, I'm just sad. I'll miss them so much. But I wish they would have gotten the final book that they deserved. I would have waited 6 more months for a more well planned and thought out final book for these Royals. But it's apparent that the push of others won.

Hartley and Easton were a bit frustrating to like. Hartley doesn't use her brain at all which was completely annoying. I get that she lost her memory and shit..but damn, she was just annoying, naive, and god damn gullible. I wanted to slap her so many times. Plus their whole relationship was just meh to me. Again, I felt absolutely nothing for them.

After all of that nonsense, the ending was what redeemed it (at least for me). I loved seeing Ella and Reed back together. The cherry on top was them getting married. They are relationship goals and they are what made me fall in love with this series. If I could, somehow, get another book about them - like their married life or something - I would be so freaking happy!

I freaking love the royals!

Cracked Kingdom probably gave me like 5 mini heart attacks while reading it. I got my boy Easton and my girl Hartley basically being my romeo and juliet. I hated Hartley's parents because they were just god damn awful. Then there's my homegirl Ella and I was so freaking happy to see her in this book (you don't even know!). THEN the ending had me swooning all over the place. I was so happy with it. I didn't care if it was realistic or not. They got a happy ending. I got a happy ending. The world got a happy ending!

Overall, I loved this book. I loved the drama and the action. I loved the villains and I definitely loved the happy ending. I can't wait for the next book... PLEASE TELL ME IT'S A THING?!

Book #5 starts basically right where we left the Royals in Fallen Heir. In the hospital with twin Seb in very critical condition and with Hartley being blamed for the accident. And Easton being blamed for everything happening in the first place. And then suddenly Hartley collapses and hits her head very hard ... and due to the fall she wakes up and has forgotten the last three years of her complicated life. Could be a good thing, but not when her parents are trying to run her life now and also not when those idiot kids from school - aka Felicity - are telling stupid lies about Hartley's lost time!

Time for Easton to save the day, but the poor guy can't reach Hartley, they've taken her phone, and he's also mega worried about his brother.

Our two darlings have a long fight in front of them to get to that happily ever after we've always wanted for them.

Eeeeeeep!!! Finally! It feels like we've waited for years for Easton's 2nd book to come out! And here it is.

description

And it is amazing. Mostly it's amazingly heartbreaking. But it's also adorable and sweet and sad and moving and exciting and funny.

And grrrrrr - I wanted Felicity and Hartley's parents (and Steve too!) to take a verrrry long walk off a very short pier!!! Horrible people!

The book has such a sad vibe with Seb still in the hospital and Hartley without any idea of what happened. And poor Easton - he can't flirt or joke his way out of all the mess this time.
I just wanted to jump into the book and hug the hell out of him!

What more can I say? I don't want to spoil any more. I LOVED every single word of this story. And I'm sad that it's over now. But I'm also happy with how everything ended. Of course I wouldn't have minded A LOT more pages. But mayyybe ... maybe we'll get more of the Royals one day. Who knows. But even if not - I'm ok with how it ended.

CRACKED KINGDOM was such a heartbreakingly beautiful & sweet & adorable & moving & exciting & funny final book in this amazing series! Run to your nearest amazon to find out how it all ends!!! But HURRY! Easton will be sold out in no time!☺

Tiny little thing I didn't love ... I know it was all so very last minute with the release of the book. They had to get it done fast, but another proof-reader wouldn't have hurt. There are lots of typos and some scenes where stuff is just wrong - continuity they call it on the screen. Like one moment a guy wears only underpants and the next moment the girl takes off his jeans.
BUT - pfffft - I didn't mind that very much - I just noticed it.
I still LOOOOVED this book so very much!

Can Netflix please come and make a ROYAL show?!?! PLEASE!

I was so excited for this book and I'm so glad I was finally able to read it. It was a very enjoyable and super quick read and I'm still so in love with all the characters; I really hope we might get another book about the Royals in the future.

But even though I enjoyed this book and think it was a great conclusion to the series, there were two things that bothered me and are the reason I couldn't give this a full five stars.

The first one is something I also criticized back when I read Paper Princess which is weird since I didn't have this problem with any of the other three books in the series. But there were quite a few spelling mistakes in this book that weren't hard to catch and started being a little annoying after some time.

My second problem was that things sometimes just didn't make sense. As you can already tell from reading the synopsis, Hartley loses her memory and can't remember anything about the last three years of her life. But right after losing her memory she's talking about her height and bra size and how she clearly couldn't be attractive enough for one of the Royal brothers because of that. But I just think that's something that would've changed during the three years she doesn't remember and so it was just kinda weird that she had forgotten about everything except her height and bra size.

Then there was also the situation in which Easton told her how he lost his virginity and a couple of pages later he jokes about being a virgin and she's just like: "I'll just act like I believe that because I don't remember anything about you and wouldn't know better." even though they'd just talked about losing their virginity.

And then there was also a scene where they were lying in bed and he was only wearing boxer briefs and she was only dressed in one of his shirts. But a couple of lines later it's said that they start undressing each other and how she's taking of her pants and is opening his jeans even though it had just been said that they weren't wearing them.

So quite a few things just didn't make sense and it was a little frustrating. But overall, this was still a great novel and I really enjoyed reading it which is why I'm giving it a 3.5 out of 5 stars!

What an intense and yet sweet ending to not only Hartley and Easton's story, but to the entire Royals series. There were moments in this book that I wanted to strangle half the characters while simultaneously hugging the other ones, but despite all the emotional ups and downs Cracked Kingdom is a pretty good read.

I'm not going to say much other than that. Many questions posed during the series are answered. Problems that East and Hart were facing are resolved, and new ones are figured out too. A

If you're a fan of the series, you don't want to miss this final installment.

The Royal series has come to an end. What a roller coaster journey for the Royals and it's wonderfully wrapped up. Cracked Kingdom begins from the nerve wracking ending of the previous book. Here, Hartley Wright have an amnesia. She's unable to recall her past even her boyfriend, Easton Royal. There's no guarantee she'll recover her all memories, though she can remember snippets it must not be manipulated. The antagonists here took advantage of that causing Hartley to question herself and believing in the lies. The best thing Easton can do was to accompany her and answer her questions truthfully. More like filling in the gaps of her memories.

Easton has mental baggage too like his alcohol addiction, questioning his biological father and being worried on one of the twins. He's the eldest brother present since Gideon and Reed were in College and he must keep his family safe. Especially with an on-going trial involving Steve O'Hollaran, everyone is in danger including Hartley.

Out of the five books, this is probably the tamest. Was it a bad thing? Not really, it's a much needed break after all craziness on Paper Princess until Fallen Heir. The drama was above average and there were times I'm waiting for something exciting to happen. It just felt....constant until the 55%-60% mark where it gets more eventful. As much as I hate Felicity Worthington, that lying, desperate bitch was a great villain. Absolutely worse than Jordan by the way. Kyle was so extra and petty 😂 I can't even. I'm sold with Felicity alone. I love the part when Hartley gave her the dose of her medicine. She's not as feisty as Ella but she stand her ground. (If it's Ella, she'll drag Felicity by her hair).

I must admit it, I'm slightly underwhelmed with the ending. The way it ended for Steve O'Hollaran and Hartley's father was a cop out. I feel like it was too easy for them all and that's not what I had in mind. Hence, the reason I couldn't give it five stars. Despite of that, it's still a wonderful ending for Hartley and Easton. It was sweet and simple and the event with Ella and Reed in it (if you know what I mean 😉😭💖) was a giveaway.

Overall, it's still a great series but I find the first three books --Ella and Reed's story-- better. Don't worry, it doesn't mean I love Easton less. He's BAE and I love his effort and loyalty to Hartley. For me, that was enough. Another thought, is it selfish of me I want a final novella? (view spoiler)[ I WANT A FULL COVERAGE OF ELLA AND REED'S WEDDING AND HONEYMOON 😍😭😂🔥BWAHAHAHAHA! Or maybe about the twins 😛 (hide spoiler)]

If you haven't read this, it's the perfect time to binge read it. I swear once you started, there's no stopping. It's that addictive. Kudos to Elle Kennedy and Jen Frederick for writing entertaining stories and crazy plot twists.

My favorite Royal's story is over and I'm sad because it was SO GOOD.
Easton's two books are the HIGHLIGHT of this series because Ella and Reed were so damn dramatic. Seriously, I was rolling my eyes every five seconds.

While Ella and Reed's story focused more on romance and the tension between them, Easton and Hartley's focused on friendship which eventually turned into something more. It was definitely a nice change of pace compared to the first three books.

The plot twists and the end were SO SO good and the last chapter made my heart SO HAPPY. There's a nice little surprise in there for us readers.

All in all, I'm sad to see Easton go because his story was the best in my opinion. Now I kinda wish i didn't devour this book in a day.

Hartly has lost three years of her memory and is forced to weather the storm that is Astor Prep alone while Easton is expected to pick up the slack and care for his family while their father is off minding the family business.

When I first started reading the series, I enjoyed it for its ridiculous and over the top plot and characters. Paper Princess is fun in its high school setting and shenanigans yet mature in its depiction of sexuality and the surrounding world. Cracked Kingdom does continue this maturity, but not in a fun or enjoyable way like its predecessors. Easton is an interesting character, as are all the Royals, but he is in serious need of a present and mature adult. I'm all for on the edge characters who struggle with various issues that are eventually dealt with using mature coping mechanism, however Easton's addiction and depression become so erratic and dangerous that it's hard to reconcile how the novel concludes and his actions. I think it's naïve and irresponsible to create such a character and have him quit his addiction because of love. Though this does happen, the problem is that addiction is a much more complicated and important topic that deserves to be better written.

The ending of the novel is full of twists and turns and almost makes up for the lack of action throughout the rest of the novel. The key word being almost since the ending is rushed and convenient.

Overall, Cracked Kingdom is more of the same. If you enjoyed the previous novels in the series then you'll most likely enjoy Cracked Kingdom as much. Unfortunately for me, I'm beginning to realize the young adult genre isn't for me anymore so I won't be continuing with The Royals.

I put off reading this book for so long (well, at least for me), because I did not want one of my favorite series to end. I couldn't wait to read more about Easton's story and watch everything come together in the end.

Hartley's life changed the moment she popped up on Easton Royal's radar. But when Hartley loses her memory, she cannot believe a guy like Easton Royal had ever given her the time of day. Easton will do anything for Hartley to get her memory back and remember who she had become in that past year. He has to let her remember on her own, though, or risk losing her forever.

I have to say, when the whole Hartley losing her memory thing came along at the beginning of this book, I was slightly annoyed. I really hate that trope and realized we were going to go through the whole book watching Hartley relearn what her life is. This meant, though, that we literally relearned everything from the previous book that we already knew. I wanted something new and not just a rehash of what I'd already read.

While this was the conclusion of the Royal series, I felt like there was SO MUCH LEFT UNEXPLAINED. Like, what was up with the twins?! They acted super weird and it was only glossed over and never fully explained. A secret about Easton was just tossed out there with no real reaction. And the ending felt super rushed and thrown out there to create some tension and a conclusion.

This was probably my least favorite book of the series, but nothing can ever change my love for the Royals and their journey in this series. I still gave this one a four star rating because I absolutely love this world and these characters. The execution of this finale, though, didn't feel like a finale and left a lot unsaid.

I've been dying inside while trying to keep a smile on my face because I'm scared if I let that dark cold spread beyond the box I'm trying to keep it in, I'll end up doing the same thing my mom did.❞

'Cracked Kingdom' picks up where 'Fallen Heir' left off. We find out which twin was injured and to what depths. Hartley suffers a head injury which causes her to lose her memory. The Royals are still out to settle the score with Steve, while Hartley wants her dad to face his crimes.

I quite enjoyed the first half of the book. I loved Hartley's personality and appreciated her struggle as she learned to cope with her new reality. As well, I loved that these authors brought some humanity to Easton by showing us his vulnerability. The second half was different. Not sure exactly what, meaning I can't necessarily name specific things that bothered me, just that it read differently.

I have loved this series. The authors have given their readers an intriguing serial as addictive as a nighttime soap opera. The characters are fabulous and I'm glad I met them. While I wish to know more about the twins, Val and even Callum!!! I appreciate the author's decision to end the series (for now ... we can only hope, right?)

This one also consisted of a lot more substantial family drama, which is always a win for me!

If you liked Easton's character in the previous books a lot, definitely check this book out.

If you didn't, I think you can honestly pass on them and just read the first three books! Although there are some new family secrets uncovered here, the first three books are my absolute faves! x

I think this series should have ended with the third book. I mean... I really liked Easton, but his story wasn't as interesting as Ella's. The last two books were meh. Regarding this one, there were moments when I felt bored and kept waiting for some action. When the action came, the book ended. I was like "now?! Really??" However, my favourite book is still the first one.

Excellent ending! So many twists and turns. We have the best soap opera trope...amnesia! Yay!
Our heroine can't remember our hero. Can he win back her love? Can she find the truths in her past? And BTW we still have a killer to deal with.
Okay, chances are pretty good he will win back her love. I mean, He's Easton Royal! He's rich and he's hot, not to mention charming. But, truths? The truth is in the eyes of the teller of tales.

Wonderful story!
